I was originally trained as a furniture
designer and learnt my interior/architectural design skills working for
architects in London. I am currently a partner in an interior design company and
have for the last 20 years been designing, planning and project managing large
contracts up to 3 million pounds.
As a committed Francophile I enjoy applying
my skills to the renovation of older properties, to extract maximum potential
and enhance their integral character, while maintaining traditional
architectural features.
Over
the years I have built up a number of contacts for specialist skills and
suppliers of materials, which are essential when carrying out alterations to
older structures such as the installation of wood burning stoves and chimneys.
As added value, I can bring my joinery
design experience and resources to assist, if required for the selection and
specification of materials and finishes. In the past I have surveyed various
stone buildings and produced the detailed working drawings to obtain fixed
quotations for windows, doors and staircases etc to be fabricated by local
French companies. The products mainly made from oak or chestnut are of excellent
quality, be that the deliveries are some what
extended.
